Birth is one of the most magical and transformative events in a woman’s life—but I know from experience that it doesn’t always feel that way for everyone. After the birth of my first son, I looked back on my experience and felt a real gap in the support and information I’d received from my medical team, a gap I know so many women and families encounter too. I was so grateful to have hypnobirthing as a guide through my birth journey; it gave me strength, empowered me, and kept me grounded when I felt most vulnerable. Though my birth wasn’t easy and came with complications, I still look back on it with a deep sense of awe and empowerment.
As I spoke with friends and other mothers in my support groups, I began to realize that many women didn’t share this sense of empowerment after their births. I felt called to make a difference. When I discovered Hypnobirthing Australia’s practitioner training, I knew right away that this was my path—to give women the knowledge and tools that would allow them to feel truly confident and supported in birth, no matter how it unfolds. I feel so honored that I get to guide others in their birth journeys, knowing the impact this preparation has on mothers well into their parenting journey. My path wasn’t a straight line, though. Between the birth of my first and second sons, I experienced the loss of a pregnancy. This miscarriage left a profound mark on me and continues to shape the work I do every day. It gave me a deeper understanding of the complexities of pregnancy, birth, and loss, and it strengthened my dedication to supporting women through every step of their journey, whatever that may look like. This experience has instilled in me a passion to create a safe, supportive space where women feel seen, heard, and empowered, whether they’re navigating birth or the challenges and healing that sometimes come in its wake. My second son’s birth was an experience like no other. He arrived quickly, unexpectedly, and intensely—at home, all 4.9 kg of him! It was a whirlwind, magical moment that left me in complete awe of the power of birth and the inner strength of every mother. Each birth is unique, and I feel so honored to have experienced the full spectrum of birth’s unpredictability and beauty, which only fuels my dedication to empowering women through this profound life event. Alongside my work as a birth educator, I am deeply committed to birth support, working as a doula for families before, during, and after birth. Being a doula is incredibly meaningful to me, and I consider it a true privilege to walk alongside families as they navigate one of life’s most intimate and powerful experiences. I am there as a source of steady, loving support, an advocate, and a resource for both the birthing person and their partner as they bring their baby into the world. My passion also extends to breastfeeding, which I believe is a beautiful journey of connection and nourishment. I am currently studying to add breastfeeding support to my services, and I can’t wait to help mothers feel prepared and supported in their breastfeeding journeys soon. I offer group classes in Manly, Brisbane, and also in Thornlands for a select few. Private and online sessions are available, making it easy for you to prepare from wherever you feel most comfortable. It’s a privilege to join families on their unique paths to parenthood, and I am here to support you every step of the way, however that may look for you. I can’t wait to help you and your family achieve your positive birth experience—please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or would just like to connect. |
